Dmitry Ilyushenov
Dmitry was born in 1978 in Russia to Siberian Professional Champions Alex and Svetlana Ilyushenov. The family moved to the Ukraine where Dmitry won the Ukranian Junior National Trophy at the age of 13 in the same year that his parents became Ukranian Professional Ten-Dance Champions. They then moved to Moscow in 1994 where Dmitry continued his dance career and became Moscow Champion and 2nd in Russia in youth ballroom.
Dmitry continued studying and dancing in Moscow and graduated from Russian State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Physical Culture specializing in DanceSport.
After becoming Amateur Champion of Ontario and later Amateur Champion of British Columbia, Dmitry finished his amateur career successfully representing Canada at the IDSF 2003 Latin World Championships. In December 2003, Dmitry moved back to Toronto, Ontario and continued his professional teaching and dancing career.
